CELEBRATE GHANA’S INDEPENDENCE 2007

10 DAYS/9NIGHTS – 4th – 13th MARCH 2007

Day 1. (Sun. Mar 4)

Arrive in Accra – Check into Hotel

Day 2. (Mon. Mar 5)

Accra City Tour –

CONNECTWORLD orientation.

After breakfast and orientation at the Hotel we will start

the day with an Accra City Tour. Accra has been Ghana’s

capital since 1877.

Visits the WEB Du Bios Center for Pan Africanism, to

discover more about the Diaspora. Drive round the

Independence Square specially constructed to

commemorate Ghana’s Independence from British

colonial rule on March 6, 1957, and head to the Kwame

Nkrumah Mausoleum which houses the remains of the

first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame

Nkrumah.

Day 3 (Tue. Mar 6)

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE-GHANA AT 50
This morning we will have to depart early to the ceremonial grounds to participate in the display of the Nationals pride. We will see an impressive and colorful parade by a number of public and private schools, colleages and all the services in the Country. ie. The Army, The Navy, The Air Force, Police Service, Fire Service etc. This spectacular Independence Day celebration will be held at the Black Star Square and will also feature Heads of States, Members of the Diplomatic Core, Dignitaries (Like yourself), Members of Civil Society and the Public etc.

The program will be accompanied by music provided by the Armed Forces Band, Police Band, Cultural Dancers etc.

This is spectacular an should not be missed. Overnight at hotel in Accra.

Day 4 (Wed. Mar 7)

Morning relaxation, afternoon depart for CapeCoast.

Visit Assin Manso to see Slave River, Hall of Meditation.

 

Day 5  (Thur. Mar 8)

Visit Kakum National Park, Exciting exposition and

walking tour of Elmina and Cape Coast Township. Visit

Cape Coast or Elmina Castle and Slave dungeons.

Rite of Passage.

 

Day 6  (Fri. Mar 9)

Depart CapeCoast For Accra, drive through historical

Fante towns. Relaxation and preparation for Ghana @50

big luncheon(extra), Ghana as one.

Day 7 (Sat. Mar 10)

Today is the big event, Ghana as One!!!

Day 8  (Sun. Mar 11)

Depart to Kumasi - Ashanti Empire, Cultural center, Manhyia Palace etc.

Day 9  (Mon. Mar 12)

Tour Ashanti Arts and Craft Villages.

Depart for  Accra. Evening Relaxation.

Day 10  (Tue. Mar 13)
